Judy Pietrobono has been a member of the Board of Education since February 2016 when she was appointed to fill an unexpired term. At that time, she was excited about the opportunity to work alongside a group of Board members who shared her vision for our school district. Judy has enjoyed working with this Board on behalf of our students and she wishes to continue the work the Board has started.
As the parent of two sons, one a high school senior at Highland Park High School and the other a graduate of Highland Park High School, Judy has a long history with the school district.
Judy's background is in public service. She has been a librarian at a public library for more than twenty years. She has served as a teen librarian, Senior Department Head, and most recently as an Assistant Director at the South Brunswick Public Library. Similar to the public schools, libraries are educational institutions. They strive to promote early literacy, digital literacy and lifelong learning. As a Department Head and now administrator, Judy is involved heavily with policy making, mentoring, and hiring and evaluating staff. She also works with the Library Board to make sure the library is providing the best service they can to residents.
Judy received her Masters Degree in Library Science from Rutgers University and a degree in English/Journalism from the State University of New York at New Paltz.
Judy is excited about serving again with Darcie, the Board's president, and Mark, the Chair of the Finance Committee, on the Support Our Schools slate.
