Marilyn Pruce

I’m Marilyn Pruce, and I’ve lived in Highland Park since 2016. I am running for a three-year term on the Highland Park Board of Education. In September 2020, I interviewed and was selected to fill an open seat. For this past year, I have been a member of the personnel and Equity and Excellence Committees, as well as the Negotiations Committee.

I have been involved in education for more than 40 years. My teaching career was spent in the South Brunswick Schools as a middle and high school special education teacher, and as a supervisor. As a high school special education supervisor, I was deeply involved in hiring and mentoring new staff, developing inclusive programs, and facilitating the implementation of best instructional practices. For the past five years, I’ve supervised student teachers through Rider University, and taught future teachers and at-risk college students at Middlesex College.

I am also active in other organizations that support this great community, including Highland Park Gives a Hoot, the Highland Park Food Pantry, Interfaith Rise, and Women Aware.

I love to travel and I have 3 wonderful adult children and 6 amazing grandchildren, one of whom is a first grader at Irving.

I love living in Highland Park and want to continue to have the opportunity to use my background in education and passion for access to quality education for all students to support the work of the Board of Education and the greater school community. I hope you will vote for me, and for Monique Coleman and Allison Casal-Dunn. We are all dedicated educators committed to Supporting Our Schools.
